1. Face-to-Face Class Arrangements for Schools in Hong Kong in the 2021/22 School Year - Recommendation on Students Aged 12 to 17 Years to Receive One Dose of the Comirnaty Vaccine

When individual schools have achieved the below vaccination rate, the Education Bureau (EDB) will, taking into consideration the actual circumstances of the schools, allow the students of such schools to resume normal school life, including whole-day face-to-face classes, luncheons, as well as extra-curricular activities:

  • the number of teachers and school staff (including teaching and non-teaching staff) directly employed by the school having received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days has reached 70% or more of the total number of teachers and school staff directly employed by the school; and
  • the number of students aged 18 years or above having received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days and students aged 12 to 171 years having received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days has reached 70% of the total number of students of the school.

For a school operating half-day classes, for individual students aged 12 to 17 years who have received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days and individual students aged 18 years or above who have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days, the school can arrange non-academic extra-curricular activities (e.g. music and physical activities) for such students on the other half-days (outside the half days with schooling).
